Here are some of the products and services that I use, and highly recommend.
Online Backup: I use Mozy.
You can pay by the month or by the year, and it’s only about $5 a month. Mozy has a cool app that just runs in the background and magically backs everything up automatically. After you sign up you never have to worry about backups again. And it’s really easy to restore files – you won’t even have to call me for help – but I won’t mind if you do 
Plus it works just fine on Mac or Windows.
There are two versions – you can get the 2GB version for free (this is not a trial, it’s 2GB free forever), or you can pay the monthly or yearly fee for the unlimited service, which allows you to back up as much data as you want! Please talk to me if you are going to get the unlimited version, many internet companies (Telus, Shockware etc) limit the amount you can upload in a month, so you have to be a bit tricky about how you do it.
